The number one question I get asked is: So...running...it is your job? Why yes, yes I am a professional athlete. Here's the low down. Some of us in the sport, Erica and I included, are lucky enough to have a contract. We are sponsored by Nike. Nike is awesome because they give me pretty sa-weet shoes and gear, some money to live on, and some money to travel to meets. I travel to track meets a couple of times a month from the months of January to (hopefully) September. These track meets are all over the United States and Europe. At these meets, it's awesome. I land in foreign land and usually have a few days to chill and eat food and explore. Unless I'm in Kingston, Jamaica of course (I'll explain later). Then all of my other professional co-workers get together and wait until the race time. At that point we all kind of agree, "see you in an hour to run fast!" After taking a little less than 2 minutes to do work, we all then go out to eat. Most runners are foodies.  So in short, my life is a mix of fooding, running, sleeping, and exploring. If I have any say so, I will be a professional runner for life.
