Eggs and Hibernation
Published by
WE. ARE. IN. COLORADO. It took us over 19 hours to get here, and when we hit the bed in Golden, CO at 4:30AM Mountain Time, I thought it would take an act of God to get us back up before at least 2. I was wrong, it only took eggs. When a particularly gifted friend, we'll call him Tommy G. (because that's his name), came knocking at 9 and I confusedly answered the closet door instead of the front door, I thought that there might have to be a little beat down on my part. Erica, asleep on the sofa next to me grumbled similarly hostile sentiments toward our friend. This was all completely unfair, of course, because it had in fact been our resident egg addict (Phe) who orchestrated the early morning rendezvous. Eventually we were all lured to the kitchen with the promise of a delicious meal cooked by the rare creature that is a twenty something college boy with culinary skills. It was delectable! NAY! Delightful! Completely worth abandoning our post-drive hibernation for an hour or two. As we sit here pleasantly stuffed and ready to return to the cave for the next 5 hours, we feel that the last two days of bunnies, driving and breakfast have been a very solid start to the journey. See y'all on the other side of unconsciousness with weird tales from the road.
